The world is slowly changing its view on autism, yet, as always, it is taking far too long. Temple Grandin has long called for a change in how we view differences and the term neuro-diversity is becoming more normalized.
Has autism inspired or distracted me in growing and living my life? How about both? As in everything with life, it is neither black nor white, but shades of grey. When will we as a world start to see life as the very definition of diverse, instead of labelling differences as abnormal?
We must however not disregard the implications of defining autism through behaviour without looking at the biological factors.
